Bergdolt-Reif & Nett
The winery Bergdolt-Reif & Nett is located in the small village Duttweiler in the middle of the Palatinate. Here, where the name Bergdolt alone can be found on every second street corner, Bergdolt-Reif & Nett has its roots. These go back to 1838, when the foundation stone for the winery was laid with the construction of the sandstone vaulted cellar. The eventful history of the winery includes a division of the estate in 1900 as well as an adoption and marriage, all of which led to the current owners and operators of the Palatinate Winery.
The Nett family - the heart of the winery
The Nett family, which is now running and managing the Bergdolt-Reif & Nett in the fifth generation, has a clear vision of their wines. Thinker and leader of the winery is the master winemaker Christian Nett, born in 1981. Christian has managed the BRN cellar since the age of 19. He completed his training with August Ziegler, Dr. Deinhard and the VDP top winery Müller-Catoir. Since his father Bernhard had given him the responsibility for the cellar, the two of them have been managing the winery together as Roman consuls. Often the two of them get into trouble, especially because Christian is particularly concerned about quality and yield reduction, while his father still grew up with the maxim "the more wine in bottles, the better" and thus survived as a winemaker in a tough profession. Especially the experience as a winegrower and the sure feeling for wind and weather make father Bernhard priceless for Christian Nett.
Perfect Pfälzer conditions for Nett
At an altitude of 120 to 140 meters above sea level, the Nettschen vines grow on mighty loess and clay soils, which are interspersed with fine limestone veins. The climate, here between Speyer and Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, is almost Mediterranean. Ideal conditions for growing grape varieties like Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Dornfelder, Müller-Thurgau and actually all Burgundy grape varieties. 76% of the grape varieties cultivated at Bergdolt-Reif & Nett are white grapes. Always close to nature, Bergdolt-Reif & Nett has been following an even more consistent path since 2011. Bergdolt-Reif & Nett cultivates the best vineyards, in particular the top location Mandelberg, where the grapes for the Prestige wines and Christians Specials are grown. To be more precise, a Rhenish-German cold-blood contributes to keeping the soil loose so that the soil can breathe. This is how grapes grow which are of higher quality and give the wines of Berdolt-Reif & Nett even more character.
Vine diversity - classic for the Palatinate
As is not uncommon in the Palatinate, the vineyards of Bergdolt-Reif & Nett also grow a whole range of vines. In addition to the usual suspects such as Riesling and Pinot Gris, Christian Nett has also made French classics such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Auxerrois native to his vineyards.

Creativity at Bergdolt-Reif & Nett - in and on the bottle
Christian Nett has it not only in the bottle, but also with its wine names and labels, on change and venture. This starts with his Faith-Love-Hope Riesling, which comes along classically with cross, anchor and heart on the label, and continues with the Paranoia Pinot Noir, his red wine Heartbeat, his Chardonnay Nettswerk and many others.
