Best conditions for best wines
Beringer Vineyards has been growing wine for more than 140 years. The story of one of California's leading wineries was to begin in 1869 with the arrival of the German brothers Jacob and Frederick Beringer in Napa Valley. Jacob and Frederick purchased a total of 215 hectares of land and developed the first quality vineyard in Napa Valley. To this day the winery is still in the hands of the family. Since 2015 by great-great grandson Mark Beringer. He takes with him the art of winemaking that his ancestors brought to the region and expands it with modern technology and pioneering spirit.
Best marks from critics
Beringer Vineyards has already produced award-winning red and white wines that carry and combine the outstanding strengths and typical character of the region. The renowned magazine Wine Spectator has awarded Beringer Vineyards the title of "Wine of the Year" for a white AND a red wine, as the only wine producer to date.
Volcanic rock brings fertile soil
The total area under vines at Beringer Vineyards amounts to a remarkable 1200 hectares. A total of 250 hectares of this is located in the Napa Valley, along the river of the same name. Parallel to the sea coast, the valley is flanked to the north and east by imposing mountain ranges. This favourable location causes Mediterranean climatic influences and thus excellent characteristics for the cultivation of Californian top wines. The volcanic rock found there produces a variety of soils, with those in the valley being particularly fertile.
Renowned grape varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Zinfandel thrive perfectly because of these ideal conditions and are part of the diverse range of varieties in the Beringer Vineyards. The guiding principle of Beringer Vineyards is to bring nothing less than the perfection of the wine region into the bottle. This makes them unbeatable among the wineries of Napa Valley. Precision work, originating from German roots and passion, combined with the diversity of the wine region, create unsurpassable wines with depth.
Not only the own advantage is considered
Beringer Vineyards produce their high quality wines sustainably and long before this was discussed, the family business was already intensively engaged in wine production in harmony with man, nature and animals. A truly exemplary winery with the finest wines.
