Botrosecco Maremma Toscana DOC 2017 - Le Mortelle
The Botrosecco Maremma Toscana DOC from Le Mortelle glows ruby red in the glass. On the nose it presents a rich and intense bouquet with aromas of dark berry jam, candied cherries and caramel, chocolate, as well as balsamic notes of eucalyptus and mint. On the palate powerful, captivating, fruity, with present, velvety tannins, full-bodied, in the aftertaste hints of chocolate and cherry appear.
Vinification of Botrosecco Maremma Toscana DOC by Le Mortelle
Botrosecco is a cuvée of Cabernet Franc 40% and Cabernet Sauvignon 60%. After selective harvesting, the grapes are destemmed, gently pressed and placed in stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, and maceration for 15 days with repeated lifting of the skinned cap to obtain only the best tannins. Once the skins have been removed, the wine is transferred to stainless steel tanks, where malolactic fermentation is completed by the end of the year. Botrosecco is then aged for 12 months in barriques before being bottled.
