Wines with an important home
Italy is famous for its wine tradition and its excellent wines rich in nuances. In the Adige Valley (Valdadige) in the region of Trentino, wine growing is celebrated with particular passion, and so in the provinces of Trento, Bolzano and Verona you can find some first-class wines. Since 1975, the red, rosé and white wines produced in this region have carried the "Denominazione di origine controllata" (DOC) controlled denomination of origin. The 2014 update of this denomination of origin, published in 2014, speaks for the excellent quality and popularity of these wines. Nowhere else in Italy is there a comparable area with such a high quality density. It is therefore not surprising that Cantina Valdadige is one of the leading producers of quality wines in Italy.
There is something for everyone
There are different demands for the enjoyment of wine, and so several wine producers in the region have joined forces to produce wines of varying quality with a joint cooperative winery, the Cantina Valdadige. The wines that come on the market under the Valdadige Veronese designation and enjoy great popularity come from the producer of the same name.
And the climate?
The Valdadige growing region covers the Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto. The landscape, with its alpine areas and Mediterranean zones, is extremely varied and therefore offers the ideal conditions for the production of first class wines. Thanks to the nearby Lake Garda, which has a mitigating influence on the climate, the area is dry and warm. Not only are the soils sufficiently irrigated and extremely permeable, they are also rich in rock salt and the slopes are rich in sunshine. This makes them an ideal place for the cultivation of vines with a unique flavour.
From the producer Cantina Valdadige Veronese, the white wine varieties Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay are particularly well known and appreciated. The Pinot Grigio white wine has a golden yellow colour, a pleasant honey note and a lively acidity. Among the red varieties, Merlot stands out. Wine lovers can recognise a strong ruby tone and enjoy an expressive taste.
