The Historic Irroy Champagne Estate
The Champagne Irroy winery is located in Reims, the capital city of the Champagne. The winery’s roots can be traced back the era of the Sun King, when only the finest grapevines were planted in the vineyards of Château de Irroy en Champagne and around the convent of Avenay in Avenay-Val-d’Or. Both the Irroy estate and the convent were destroyed during the French Revolution, but the vineyards survived and continued to be cultivated.
Champagne Irroy – A Very Special Champagne
In 1820, Champagne Irroy was founded in Reims by Ernest Irroy as a mercantile for the wines he produced. In 1955 Champagne Irroy was taken over by the renowned Champagne company Taittinger, however it still produces its Champagnes independently and according to its traditional quality standards.
