The Château Puech-Haut began as a vineyard with Gérard Bru. The industrialist broke away from his old professional life to dedicate himself to the land and found the winery. The manor house is the old prefecture house of Montpellier, which was rebuilt on the estate.
Situated 20 km north of Montpellier, the wines here benefit from the clay and limestone soils, while the climate is very dry and hot, with heavy rainfall in summer. The winery has 184 hectares of vineyards, on which various grape varieties are cultivated. The processing of the red wines is mostly classical, from the crushing of the grapes by foot and aging in oak barrels, while rosé wines are aged in modern, temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
