Cusumano - young, dynamic, innovative, Sicily
The roots of the wine company Cusumano were laid by the father Francesco Cusumano in the post-war years. At the end of the 90s, the brothers Alberto and Diego Cusumano took over the renowned winery and, at the beginning of the new millennium, set in motion a remarkable success story and growth, which in just a few years became an example of the dynamism and innovative spirit of the Sicilian wine industry. More than 500 hectares of vineyards in production at five sites in Sicily, two and a half million bottles sold each year, 50% of the total production exported to over 62 countries in the world.
Cusumanos - the many faces of Sicilian wines
Together with oenologist Mario Ronco, the project was launched in 2001. The company owns vineyards in four growing areas throughout the island of Sicily, each with different characteristics in terms of climate, soil and grape varieties. The grape varieties are cultivated in the most suitable locations and matured in the new cellar under modern conditions. This is how the unique wines of Cusumano are created, which, with their complex and powerful fruit aromas, awaken Sicily's sun in the glass.
- Ficuzza, 189 hectares, in Piana degli Albanesi, province of Palermo, vineyards 800 metres above sea level.
- Presti e Pegni, 70 hectares on gently sloping hills of Monreale, with clayey soils and favourable winds, where, among others, Noà wine is produced.
- San Giacomo, 140 hectares, in Butera, province of Caltanisetta, with white calcareous soils rich in minerals, ideal for Nero d'Avola
- Milioto, 3 hectares in the area of Partinico, with sandy soils, ideal for the fine fragrant Moscato
- Monte Pietroso, 30 hectares in the Monreale area, with sandy and clayey mineral soils, magnesium, calcium and potash that give the wines elegance and complexity.
- Marchesa, 50 hectares, in the area of Monreale, in the north the sandy soils offer ideal conditions for white wines, in the south, clayey soils, ideal for red wines.
- Buonivini, 20 hectares in the Pachino area, in the warm south of Sicily, ideal for deep Syrah and Nero d'Avola.
- Alta Mora, 18 hectares on the slopes of Mount Etna, with volcanic soils, for wines with a unique terroir character.
Cusumano - a declaration of love to Sicily and its culture
"The best marketing we can do for our wines is to bring people to Sicily to discover the taste of Sicily, its aromas, its colours. All these impressions are reflected in our wines," says Diego Cusumano in an interview with the Italian magazine Panorama.

In a restored old Baglio, a typical Sicilian estate, a complex has been created that brings together tradition, contemporary design and a spirit of innovation, while at the same time becoming a place for communication, events and tastings.
