Enate is one of the big names when it comes to Spanish wine.
The Bodega Enate is located in a traditional wine-growing region of Spain, the Somontano. Somontano means at the foot of the mountains, well protected here at the foot of the Pyrenees. The name of the winery is borrowed from the small village of Enate, located in Somontano, near Barbastro. There is the largest part of their vineyards.
The wines are produced exclusively from their own vineyard and the vineyards are managed according to the principles of organic viticulture. The bodega team is young, highly motivated and well trained.
Enate has set high standards from the beginning. The stated goal is to make wines for the world's top. Jesus Artajona, one of the most prominent winemakers in Spain, contributes a great deal to this. He studied viticulture in Bordeaux and then worked at various wineries in Bordeaux. One of them is the well-known Chateau Margaux. His handwriting and his credo are wines, characterized by the terroir, with soft tannins and a French-style. Wines with power and vitality, but above all wines with great elegance.
From the beginning, art plays a central role for enate. The wines are true work of art, each bottle a copy of contemporary art. Therefore, Enate has asked all important living Spanish artists to paint for them. The result is an art gallery with more than 100 paintings. To continue the artistic legacy, the collection will be completed by young artists, the participants of the Enate EnArte Award. From the paintings of the collection, the motifs for the labels of the wines are selected. Enate is a total work of art all around.
