Spumante von Ferrari
The most famous Italian sparkling wine comes from Trento and is naturally produced in the classic Trentodoc region. Only the best sites high up in Trentino are sufficient for the Lunelli brothers and sisters to produce the excellent sparkling wines of the highest quality. The Ferrari winery was founded in 1902 by the young Giulio Ferrari, who moved early to Montpellier to learn the art of natural fermentation from the French. After his return to his homeland, he planted French grapes in the family vineyard and since then has been producing the first-class spumantes, whose name quickly achieved an impressive reputation.
Since Giulio Ferrari had no heirs of his own, he appointed Bruno Lunelli as his successor, who took over the winery in 1952 and has been continuously expanding the business ever since, so that already in 1969 about 100,000 bottles were produced for the first time. However, all Ferrari spumantes are still produced in the traditional way Método classico as a legacy of Giulio Ferrari. The head office itself is still in Trento, where the name can be seen when travelling to Italy. In the meantime, however, other high-quality brands have become part of the Lunelli Empire.
