Kellerei Cantina Terlan
The winery Cantina Terlan
One of the first cellar cooperatives in South Tyrol, Cantina Terlan, was founded in 1893 in the heart of the Terlan wine-growing region. At that time, 24 winegrowers set themselves the goal of joint production and sales promotion. Today, the Terlan winery, with about 100 members, a cultivation area of 150 hectares and an annual production of 11,000 hl or 1.2 million bottles, is one of the smaller wineries in the country. The manageable size of the Cantina Terlan winery contributes significantly to quality assurance.
Cantina Terlan - demand for quality
Under the expert supervision of the oenologist Rudi Kofler, 70% white and 30% red wines are matured in the modern winery, all of which have DOC classification, and the wines of Cantina Terlan have the special characteristics of climate and soil in them. During their careful development, great importance is attached to the preservation and accentuation of the type of area. The result are unmistakable, very individual wines, which are distinguished by fruit and race, but also by impressive density and longevity.
