Miguel Torres Chile
Miguel Torres - A pioneer of Chilean viticulture
The well-known Torres family of winegrowers is very proud to be the first foreign winegrowers to recognise Chile's enormous potential as a winegrowing region. Don Miguel Torres Carbó bought a winery in 1979 in Maquehua in the Curicó Valley, thus becoming a pioneer and role model of Chilean viticulture.
From Santa Digna to Cordillera
In the meantime, Torres produces a wide range of wines on popular terroirs in various regions of Chile, including the vineyards of Cordillera, in the immediate vicinity of the Andes, on the sandy volcanic soils of San Luis de Alico in San Clemente and on the Fundo Empedrado in the Constitucíon area.
Torres Chile produces a wide variety of wines, increasingly also from organically grown grapes, with the climatic and geological conditions of Chile, especially the alternation of hot sunny days and cool nights, ensuring a splendid ripening and aroma development of the grapes. Among other things, this leads to the development of aromatically mature, fruity wines with a clear varietal character and vital freshness.
