From watchtower to lighthouse for Italian enjoyment
Selvapiana was the name of one of the watchtowers that stood along the river Sieve in the Middle Ages and was built to protect the city of Florence. During the Renaissance the building was then enlarged and then converted into a villa for noble families and bishops. In 1827 a very successful banker named Michele Giuntini was found, who bought the property and from then on used it as a winery. Today it is run by Giuntini's adopted children. They know how to keep the tradition alive and how to produce quality wines with their very own language.
