Inspired by ancient Greek mythology
The Sileni were constant companions of Dionysus, the god of wine, vineyards and theatre. As soon as a celebration was due, the Sileni were there to indulge in the pleasures of delicious food, good wine, and pleasure.
This inspiration gave the winery the name Sileni Estates in 1998.
Recognition all along the line
The Sileni can also be found as a symbol in the logo, represented as a triangle. The three angles of the triangle stand for
- good meal
- good wine and
- good company
The surrounding circle symbolizes the global orientation of the company and everything that Sileni stands for.
New Zealand's wine regions
Sileni Estates is located in the sub-region of the Bridge Pa Triangle in the sunny Hawke's Bay. With great pride and respect for the region, Sileni vinifies wines that reflect the full potential of the stunning terroir.
Merlot, Syrah and Semillon are vinified on the hotter plains of the sea heights. On the cooler, higher foothills and coastal towns, the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties are most at home.
World-famous for the Sauvignon Blanc, this wine region should not be missing from the portfolio of Sileni Estates. Sauvignon Blanc is cultivated in Marlborough from their own vineyards and in cooperation with local producers.
The art of winemaking
Sileni Estates winegrowers face the challenge every day to preserve the purity of the grapes while maintaining the high quality to create unforgettable wines. This is the centre of Sileni's trade. This is the only way to make light, elegant wines that go perfectly with selected dishes.
To good food, good wine and unforgettable evenings in good company.
