The Pacenti Winery was founded in 1970 in the north of Montalcino by Siro Pacenti, who then planted some important vineyards in the fresh, loamy soils of the country, overlooking Siena. In 1988, the company's management passed to Giancarlo. In this year, Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino were bottled for the first time.
In the early nineties, the property was extended to a plot south of Montalcino (Piancornello). The nineties were also marked by the beginning of the partnership with the University of Bordeaux and the first experiments on phenolic maturity in Sangiovese (Yves Glories). The new wine cellar was built between 2001 and 2004 and combines technology and experience with respect for the grapes and the land.
