Tenuta di Capraia
Calogero Calì is an Italian lawyer who decided to acquire a beautiful winery in Tuscany to compensate for the strenuous professional life. In the beginning, it was only a hobby for him, but nowadays it is impossible to imagine the wine world without him, as he offers winegrowing at the highest level.
Its vineyard, the Tenuta di Capraia, is located at an altitude of 280 metres in the Chianti Classico DOCG in the heart of Castellina. The 45 hectares of vineyards thus cover one of the most cultivated and highest-quality wine regions in the entire Chianti region. It is also considered to be one of the warmest zones in the Chianti region; the vines produce well ripened grapes thanks to the lesser continental climate and the clayey soil of the tufa. It is precisely these factors that contribute to the extraordinary strength, structure and elegance that characterise the ideal Chianti wine.
Daniele Pagni is responsible for the wines of Tenuta di Capraia. He studied viticulture and oenology at the Technical Institute of Agriculture and is responsible for all the processes involved in the processing of Capraia wine.
