Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC 0,375 l 2016 - Tenute Marchese Antinori
The Vinsanto del Chianti Classico DOC by Tenute Marchese Antinori presents itself in dark amber colour with golden reflections. On the nose, Vinsanto is a delight with its characteristic sweet aromas of dried fruit, hazelnuts, chestnuts and honey with notes of citrus in the background. Full-bodied on the palate, soft as honey, supported by a pleasant acidity that gives it freshness. The finish is persitently long, wonderfully aromatic and sweet.
Vinification of Vinsanto del Chianti Classico DOC by Tenute Marchese Antinori
The grapes for this historic dessert wine come exclusively from the Antinori vineyards of Chianti Classico. The grape harvest is very careful and selective, the grapes are transported in small boxes and placed manually on straw mats in the traditional drying room of the Tenuta Tignanello. Once the natural dehydration is complete, the grapes are pressed very gently to preserve their aromatic and organoleptic characteristics. The must thus obtained is immediately transferred to the typical Caratelli barrels, made of different types of wood and with a capacity of between 50 and 200 litres. Here the wine undergoes its slow and long alcoholic fermentation, which is then interrupted. The wines are then aged in the various small barrels for 3 years, then brought together and bottled.
Vinsanto has been proven to have been produced in Tuscany since the Middle Ages and is considered a genuine regional speciality. The Antinori family has also always produced it too. The first vintage of today's Vinsanto Tenute Marchese Antinori was in 1987. It is produced in limited quantities.
